Drop by at our new pop-up store
As you might know, The Modern started out as The Modern Vintage on the Jacob Obrechtstraat. Time went by and new things came our way. We signed for a new location at Staringplein 11-13, opening november 2022. In the meantime we’re not standing still, we opened a pop-up location at Oostzaanstraat 10 in Amsterdam.
Come by to see new items from design brands like Menu, Fredericia, Frama and Carl Hansen. In addition, new collaborations are coming up: we will be the only Anonima Castelli dealer of Amsterdam, think about design favorites like the Akly, Plia and Plona. You can come admire all this newness in our pop-up location. And ofcourse you can still drop by for our colourful and well-known vintage Eames collection.
When walking through one of this ports and entering the courtyard, you will experience an oasis of peace. Korth Tielens and Marcel Lok designed this iconic housing project, which contains 76 houses built around a courtyard.
Spaarndammerbuurt
The Modern pop-up is located at the Spaandammerbuurt in Amsterdam West. Here you’ll find a variety of architecture. Walking through the neighbourhood, you will see several buildings in the ‘Amsterdamse School’ style, designed by Michel de Klerk. His most remarkable creation is ‘Museum het Schip’. From our pop-up we overlook this beautiful building.
